#zaneography

Zane believed that photography was a way of connecting to one’s community and a way of supporting your own mental health, and #zaneography promotes the personal benefits of capturing one’s life in pictures.

Zane is the inspiration why we chose photography as a community project. An inspiring photographer, his love of life and capturing it on film was a passion. Zane was killed in August of 2018. Through the generous support of donations from family, friends and h!p supporters, we created this project to honor him and his desire for helping others.

Mindful Photography (MP) is a way to communicate, to ourselves and to others. It is an expression that requires no skill, experience or fancy camera.

MP enables you to look at life through a lens that you choose. This gives you control of what you want to see and how you want to see it. It defines your perspective and this can change with every picture!

There are many benefits to MP:

  • Getting outside into nature and the fresh air
  • Self expression & reflection
  • Shift your perspective
  • The ability to express yourself in a nonverbal way
  • Brings mindfulness
  • Gives you personal control
  • Can bridge social relationships
  • Connects you to your own thoughts
  • Creates moments of gratitude

Individuals can post their pictures on Instagram using the hash tag #zaneography and we will gladly share with our community!
